Day 11

Last day of midterms and the worst day of all four.

History--It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, but 100 multiple choice is killer for stupid mistakes. Hope I did well
Math--Also wasn't hard, but simply too long. Aggravating. I barely finished and had no time to check :(.

In History, ELEVEN pieces of paper were handed out to 25 students. =275
In Math, seven pieces of paper were handed out to 23 students. =161

Total: 436

SOPA and PIPA

Right now, the U.S. Congress is on the verge of passing two bills called SOPA and PIPA that would institute mass-scale arbitrary censorship on the internet.

They are about to pass a bill that would take away Google, Facebook, Youtube, Wikipedia, Craiglist and any other websites that allow people to share knowledge and information.

Please help stop SOPA and PIPA by:

1. Spreading this message to everyone you know;

2. Call your congressman to voice your opposition; and

3. Join the online petition organized by Google: https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/

This website has been blackened in protest of these two bills. This will be only a temporary change; the website will go back to what it was.

Day 2

In Science, one piece of paper was handed out to 25 students. =25
In French, four pieces of paper were handed out to 20 students. =80
Total: 105
Not as much as yesterday, considering I only have two "real" classes, but still a lot of paper.

In addition, I went to the media center during lunch today to work on my research paper and when I was leaving, I noticed stacks of paper.

Curious, I asked my teacher, who was on "library duty" or something like that. Apparently, 3 students had decided to print out huge amounts of copies (ranging from 20 to 50). The worst part: they didn't even pick it up. Disgusting is the only word I can describe the apathy of people towards paper. We need change and we need it now yet people are too "busy" to think otherwise.

EDIT: Big picture updated. Grand total: 320

EDIT2: I've changed the experiment to include papers that the teachers request us take notes on (i.e. "Take out a sheet of paper.")

The Big Picture, Part II

Hi everyone again! As you can see, it's the weekend (3-days yeah!) and no other results are coming in pertaining my paper project. Nevertheless, I fixed up "The Big Picture" and made into a table (with the HTML skills (none) learned last year and the INTERNET!) so it looks nicer and more fluent than just a bunch of lines of text.

Be sure to check it out; I just wasted half-an-hour on it and don't want that time to go to waste.

Anyway, I'm signing off. Bye readers!

The Big Picture

Update: The Big Picture in the sidebar to the right is now available! It shows the summation of all my results.

Day 1

In English, one piece of paper was handed out to 21 students. =21
In History, five pieces of paper were handed out to 25 students. =125
In my elective, nothing was handed out.
In Math, three pieces of paper were handed out to 23 students. =69
Total: 215 in the four classes I attended. 215 sheets of paper for one day. For four classes. Among about a hundred other classes in high school. Already, the results are shocking.

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

I decided to make this blog after seeing the huge amounts of paper being used. Hopefully, the statistics will shock you and make you want to help the earth too!
